Piecing The Puzzle: Looking at Multiple Patterns
Movement is a behavior and is driven by your lifestyle and environment. Knowing this, it is important when screening movement to look at different postures and patterns since some movements could be good while others are not. By doing this you can rule out certain areas that you may need to focus on improving, thereby allowing you more time to target the areas that are more problematic. Strengthening areas that represent good movement and working to improve areas that do not have good movement.

Low Level Exercise To Correct A Toe Touch Pattern
Просмотров 947День назад
When the toe-touch movement pattern is faulty, it's important to start correctives in a lower level supported spine position. Here, Gray shows a great example of how to gain mobility but also working on stability at the same time. Working on a breathing sequence can also add great value to this exercise. Learn how to progress from here in our course: Corrective Strategies: Hip Hinge Pattern - w...
Understanding the 'System' at Functional Movement Systems
Просмотров 33514 дней назад
Functional Movement Systems was designed to use data from a series of screens, tests and assessments to determine "what's the next best step" for a person to take in order to improve their overall health, wellness, fitness or performance. This logical approach takes what is deemed as the minimum amount of information to make the best decision. The goal is to determine what can be recommended th...
Three Ways To Improve Upper Body Mobility
Просмотров 91921 день назад
Upper body mobility limitations place a lot of stress on the shoulders and low back. Here are 3 options to address this: 1) Hands and knees: Place your hand on either your low back or between your shoulder blades and rotate. Begin by pressing your opposite hand into the ground which will help create a better platform to rotate since rotation is really a forward "press" on one side and a "row" o...

THIS is what I term as " whole health" ! unfortunate that our 'medical system' prioritizes pharma financial, as opposed to human healing gains. wish you 3 were in Alberta Canada. ... 'self diagnosis' is our 'go-to' choice, unless you want to be part of the fallout damage of our 'medical system' up here.
Brilliant! 😁
Thanks!
Real information about health… that’s why it won’t go viral…

Excellent advice
This is the first video on standing up on a Sup that really makes sense. Just purchased a board and have been applying my kayak background to knee paddle a 14' board all over the lake . Standing has been an issue and I haven't even attempted to stand because of balance issues. Your half knee approach from tall kneeling is an eye opener for me. I will be applying this method the next time I'm out on the lake. Thanks so much for posting a method that I believe has provided me with the key to standing up on an SUP with confidence. Regards, John .
Great stuff! At the end of this podcast, you mentioned how a coach wouldn't train someone who couldn't get up from the ground unloaded. It reminded me of old martial arts masters who refused to teach a young protoge who couldn't perform the most basic task. In the world of performance or rehab, what would be a "basic task" or prerequisite to begin/resume training?
Bro you have no idea how core is important in doing pushups,i can do20pushups and i fail because of my weak core not my arms,mu arms would have some fuel to continue but mu core fails
Lee needs to be quiet
Lee has a slightly protracted shoulder girdle and overactive traps
Thanks.
Too much talk from Lee. I hang on every word from Grey
What about toxins like pfas and heavy metals and chemicals used in the ag industry on all our food in the grocery store. Not to mention the GMO's and bleach washed dairy products, and the crap factory farms feed the animals! Although I buy it when I can get it, even organic food isn't totally free of problems.
Also, how do you change movement patterns if you have spinal fusion from AS or if you have scoliosis?
Most PT's strictly follow a doctor's order and don't seem to understand that their evaluation gives them a license to treat effectively. They say we can only work on the neck, for example, because that's what the order indicates, and that's what insurance companies look for when they see the progress report.
Que rico!
Thank u Chuck Norris 😂
Excellent
Great explanation
💯
How often should some one trying to improve thoracic and shoulder mobility perform these exercises?
Thanks
suggest cultivating exhale on exertion despite being able to do the opposite. every exercise is a breathing exercise
only 15 min into it... feels like an infomercial... loool. was recommended Gray by a colleague. maybe i'll check out different stuff
Thanks
Brilliant! Thank you!

Excellent interview - learnt a ton!
I like to include somatic exercises in my warm up to calm the system down so that the subsequent mobility exercises have better range of motion.
If you laser massage other things, but nervous system is still dysregulated...you still will never recover.
We would have some much less health problems if we used this information. Amazing no allopathic doctors ever talk about lymphatic drainage. I heard a few naturopaths talk about it a long time ago but that’s all. Thanks for doing this podcast!
Thank you
